A new survey says 95% of Taiwanese nurses experience severe shortages of medical staff, even as one-third of qualified nurses in the country, over 100,000, are not practicing. The nurses surveyed said the situation could be resolved by raising pay, controlling the number of patients per nurse and improving the status of the nursing profession.
